第三転子Third trochanter(Trochanter tertius)

第三転子【だい３てんし】 Projection occasionally found at the base of the greater trochanter at the end of the linea aspera. Attachment site for a portion of the gluteus maximus muscle.(臀筋粗面が著しく高くなって第三転子をつくることがある。日本人では３０％近くに見られるというが、どのくらい発達すれば第三転子と呼ぶのか基準の定めかた次第でこの頻度は変わってくる。)
