骨化中心；骨化点【こつかちゅうしん；こつかてん】 Site during bone development for the onset of ossification of bones preformed in cartilage.(骨化はつくられる骨の全域で同時に進行するのではなく、はじめ１ないし数ヶ所で骨化がおこり、しだいに周辺に及んでいく。この最初に骨化がおこる部位を骨化中心または骨化点という。)
