外側皮質脊髄路；錐体側索路Lateral corticospinal tract; Lateral pyramidal tract(Tractus corticospinalis lateralis; Tractus pyramidalis lateralis)

外側皮質脊髄路；錐体側索路【がいそくひしつせきずいろ；すういたいそくさくろ】 Pyramidal tract in the lateral funiculus lying lateral to the posterior horn. Most of its fibers cross below the pyramids of the medulla oblongata to the contralateral side. Its fibers are somatotopically organized. The shortest fibers, which end in the cervical spinal cord, lie medially and the longest, which end in the lower spinal cord, lie furthest lateral. These transmit impulses for voluntary movements and mostly end in laminae VIII-IX, but also in laminae I-VII.(錐体側索路 錐体路線維のうち、錐体交叉で交叉する線維で構成される神経路をいう。反対側の脊髄側索後部(後側索ないし背側索)を下行し、途中で漸次脊髄灰白質に線維を出しながら、次第に小さな線維束となり脊髄下端まで達する。通常、9割以上の錐体路線維が交叉性で錐体側索を通ると考えられているが、これら交叉性の錐体路線維と錐体前索路を通る非交叉性のものとの割合は、特にヒトでは個体差が著しい。［医学大辞典：高田昌彦］ 外側皮質脊髄路は脊髄全長にわたって下行し、全髄節の灰白質に線維を送り、尾方へ行くに従って徐々に小さくなる。下位腰髄と仙髄で後脊髄小脳路の下方では、外側皮質脊髄の線維が脊髄の背外側表面に達する。交叉性外側皮質脊髄路音線維は中間部で脊髄灰白質に入り、第Ⅳ、Ⅴ、Ⅵ、Ⅶ層の部分に分布する。サルでは少数の線維が直接前角細胞あるいは第Ⅸ層内のその突起に終わる。)
