大臼歯Molar tooth(Dentes molares)

大臼歯【だいきゅうし】 Teeth (twelve) in the sixth, seventh, and eight position of the dental arcade.(大臼歯は歯列弓の第６、７、８位にある歯。大臼歯は大きい。特に第１大臼歯は最も大きく、後ろの物ほど小さくなる。永久歯列では左右に３歯ずつ小臼歯の後方にある。乳歯列では、上下顎に４歯ずつあるのみで、左右に２歯ずつ犬歯の後方にある。歯冠は大きく、ほぼ四角形の複雑な咬合面をもち、ここに３～５個の歯冠結節（咬頭）がみられる。歯根は一般に下顎では４本、上顎では３本に分岐する。)
