後外側腹側核（視床の）Ventral posterolateral nucleus of thalamus; VPL(Nucleus ventralis posterolateralis thalami)

後外側腹側核（視床の）【こうがいそくふくそくかく（ししょうの）】 Lateral portion of the nucleus that receives the medial lemniscus and spinothalamic tract and sends projections to the postcentral gyms.(VPL核とも言われる。視床の後外側腹側核は腹側基底核群の外側部。内側毛帯と脊髄視床路の線維がシナプス結合する。内側毛帯線維の軸索終末の分枝は境界の明瞭な小円錐状を成して視床ニューロンとシナプス結合するが、脊髄視床路線維の軸索終末は散在性に分枝知る。入力情報はニューロンを乗り換えて大脳皮質の３、１、２野の下部へ投射する。)
