頚髄；頚髄節；頚部［第一－第八頚髄節］（脊髄の）【けいずい；けいずいせつ；けいぶ［だい１けいずい－だい８けいずい］（せきずいの）】 There are eight cervical segments for the seven cervical vertebrae. The root fibers of segments 1-7 emerge above the respective vertebrae, while the root fibers of the eighth cervical segment emerge below the seventh cervical vertebra. The cervical part of spinal cord extends from the atlas to the middle of C7.(　頚髄は比較的大きく、白質も多量で、全景が卵形をしているなどが特徴である。横径は、ほとんど全部の頚髄レベルで前後径大きい。左右の後索は、明瞭な後中間中隔によって、内側にある薄束と外側にある楔状束とに分けられる。下位頚髄（第五頚髄以下）では、後角は拡大し、よく発達した前角側索へと広がる。後角頚の知覚には、網様体という鋸歯状の細胞野があり、これは全頚髄を通じて存在する。上位頚髄（第一頚髄と第二頚髄）では、後角は拡大しているが、前角は比較的小さい。)
