内耳神経；前庭蝸牛神経［脳神経VIII］【ないじしんけい；ぜんていかぎゅうしんけい［のうしんけい８］】 Nerve conveying sensory fibers through the internal acoustic meatus. It exits the internal acoustic opening beneath the facial nerve and enters the rhombencephalon at the pontocerebellar angle.(内耳神経は前庭蝸牛神経ともよばれる。内耳に分布する知覚神経で、その終止核は延髄および橋背部にある。２根、すなわち前庭神経の神経束が上根（前庭根）となる。また蝸牛神経の神経束が下根（蝸牛根）となり、両神経が内耳道底で合流して前庭蝸牛神経となる。前庭神経は平衡覚を、蝸牛神経は聴覚を中枢へ伝える。)
